The 25th Japan Cup 2017 was a Japanese road bike race . The one-day race took place on Sunday , October 22, 2017 . This bike race started and ended in Utsunomiya with a length of 144.2 km . In addition, the bike race was part of the UCI Asia Tour 2017 and was classified in the 1st HC category.

The winner was the Italian Marco Canola from Nippo-Vini Fantini in the five-man sprint ahead of Benjamin Prades from Team Ukyo . The next larger group followed, 34 seconds behind. Canola also won the 38.2 km criterion of the Japan Cup the day before .

Around Utsunomiya a circuit of 14 laps of 10.3 kilometers each had to be tackled. On each lap you climbed Mount Kogashi , a two-kilometer climb, at the beginning of each lap. This was followed by a descent. In the end, the last two kilometers were uphill.
