Marco Cavagna (* 1958 ; † August 9, 2005 ) was an Italian amateur astronomer and asteroid discoverer. He was a member of the Gruppo Astrofili Brianza , which founded the Osservatorio Astronomico Sormano ( IAU code 587) in Sormano . In the course of his career he was involved in the discovery of 19 asteroids .

He died of a stroke on August 9, 2005. It was decided to name a new 60 cm telescope at the observatory after him.

The asteroid (10149) Cavagna was named after him.
