Piero Sicoli (* 1954 ) is an Italian amateur astronomer and asteroid discoverer .

He works as a coordinator at the Osservatorio Astronomico Sormano ( IAU code 587) in Sormano , where he is responsible for calculating the orbital data of near-earth objects . In the period from 1994 to 1998, he and his colleagues discovered 43 asteroids.

The asteroid (7866) Sicoli was named after him.
