(6882) Sormano is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 5 February 1995 by the Italian astronomer Piero Sicoli and Valter Giuliani at the Osservatorio Astronomico Sormano ( IAU code 587) in Sormano was discovered.

The asteroid belongs to the Maria family, a group of asteroids named after (170) Maria .

The celestial body was named after the Lombard municipality of Sormano , which houses the observatory where this asteroid was discovered.
