The airport Capitán Nicolás Rojas is the airport of the city of Potosí in the highlands of Bolivia . It is located 6 km northeast of the city at 3935 meters above sea level. NN The location at high altitude and the mountainous terrain around the airport place particularly high demands on flight operations and only allow smaller aircraft to land and approach when visibility and wind conditions are good. For these reasons, a new construction of the airport with a longer runway is under discussion. The city is even calling for an international airport to promote tourism, but it was only in 2015 that the first stable flight connections to other Bolivian cities were established. As of July 2017 there is a daily flight from and to Cochabamba , as well as a flight from La Paz via Potosí to Santa Cruz .
