The Capitán Aníbal Arab airport is the airport of Cobija , the capital of the Pando department in northern Bolivia . The airfield runs roughly in a north-south direction and is located on the western edge of the city.

The airport has been under construction since 2013, so the terminal building, which previously could no longer accommodate the rapidly growing number of passengers, was expanded from 756 m² to 5000 m² and was inaugurated at the end of 2017. In addition, in 2018 the length of the runway will be increased from 2000 m to 2600 m and the width from 30 m to 45 m.

It was previously announced that the airport would be expanded into a modern international airport. After completion of the 40 million US dollar construction, it should be designed as the fourth largest airport in Bolivia for 235,000 passengers per year. It was announced that the airport would become a hub with flights to Panama and several countries in South America in order to relieve the Viru Viru airport in the long term .
