Marco Krainer (exactly Marco Wolfgang Krainer) (born October 4, 1981 in Linz , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian cook who u. a. also works as a TV and radio cook.

Krainer grew up in Feld am See in Austria's southernmost state, Carinthia , where he a. a. still has a residence today. In Carinthia, during his training as a chef, he attended the same culinary and tourism vocational school in Oberwollanig near Villach as his colleague Wolfgang Puck , who is now one of the most famous chefs in the United States .

Very early on, he became interested in science programs that mainly focused on nutrition - especially for the hobby counter on Westdeutscher Rundfunk ( WDR ). After contacting the moderators Jean Pütz and Sabine Fricke, as well as the editors of the broadcast concept, people began to be interested in him. Shortly afterwards, in February 2002, I received my first invitation to the studio at WDR in Cologne .

In 2004 he served the audience with an erotic menu with Lilo Wanders during his appearance on the VOX TV station in the erotic magazine Wa (h) re Liebe .

Marco Krainer advocates the topic of "American cuisine". During his first visit to the USA, the chef, who was always interested in new ideas, became aware of existing prejudices about the eating behavior of Americans. Krainer, who himself lives in the USA, is often clearly concerned about debasing appearances.

Krainer's main focus is on US, Italian, Austrian and Asian cuisine. Because of his fondness for pumpkins , WDR also filmed its own Hobbythek pumpkin program in Krainer's private pumpkin garden in Austria.
