Career

Marco Wegmüller began his career at HC Davos , for whom he was initially in the goal of the Elite A Juniors. In the 1998/99 season he was also the backup goalie of the professional team and made a total of seven appearances. In the 2000/01 season he was transferred to the cooperation partner SC Herisau, where he was able to gain experience in the National League B. A year later he moved to EHC Biel, which used him in both the NLB and the Elite A Juniors. In addition to his assignments at EHC Biel, he also played six NLA games at EHC Chur . In the summer of 2002 he moved to the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers , for which he completed 13 games in the NLA in two seasons. Before the 2005/06 season Wegmüller then moved to SC Bern , but could not prevail against the goalkeeper Marco Bührer there. Therefore he was temporarily loaned to the cooperation partner SC Langenthal . In summer 2007 he decided to move back to EHC Biel, where he formed a strong goalkeeper duo with Pascal Caminada . In 2009 he ended his career as a professional ice hockey player.
