Life

Exhibition Choreography of the Masses at the Akademie der Künste Berlin, 2012

Marcus Bredt came to Berlin in 1992 and completed a classic photography course at the Lette Verein Berlin. He then founded the Bitter Bredt Photography office with his friend and colleague Jan Bitter. The long-term collaboration was particularly characterized by Daniel Libeskind's projects , which she documented in their entirety until 2008. Since 2005 Marcus Bredt has been working independently (Bredt Photography). The focus of his work is still on architecture, but is being expanded and enriched more and more intensively by numerous city documentaries. His long-term observation of the city of Lingang deserves special mention here. Due to the close cooperation with the architecture office von Gerkan, Marg und Partner (gmp), stadium photography has also moved more and more into the center of his work in recent years. In 2015, Marcus Bredt was voted one of Germany's 10 best architectural photographers by the Goethe Institute . In 2017 he led the workshop point of view for the Goethe-Institut in Alexandria . He photographs worldwide for well-known architects and magazines and shows his pictures in international exhibitions and numerous book publications.

Marcus Bredt is a founding member of the Bundesverband Architekturfotografie (BVAF), which is committed to raising public awareness of the value and quality of architectural photography. In addition, he is part of the photographer collective Neue Langeweile, founded in 2018, which consists of David Hiepler, Fritz Brunier, Simon Schnepp , Morgane Renou and himself.
