Marcus Malsch (born January 16, 1978 in Bad Salzungen ) is a German CDU politician and sports official. In the state elections in 2014 and 2019 , he was elected to the Thuringian state parliament.

Life

After graduating from high school in Bad Liebenstein , Malsch completed an apprenticeship as a banker from 1996 to 1999 and qualified as a savings bank business administrator in 2003. From 1999 to 2006 he was employed by Wartburg-Sparkasse and then switched to a building society. In 2012 he became independent district manager of the Landesbausparkasse Hessen-Thüringen.

Malsch is married and has one child. He is Protestant and lives in Steinbach.

politics

From 2006 to 2013 Malsch was a member of the local council in his home town of Steinbach in the Wartburg district . Since April 2013 he has been a member of the city council of Bad Liebenstein .

In the municipal elections in Thuringia in 2014 , he entered the district council of the Wartburg district for the CDU and was re-elected in 2019.

For the 2014 state election, Malsch stood as the successor to Gustav Bergemann in the Wartburg District III constituency as a direct candidate for the CDU and prevailed with 37.0% of the vote. In 2019 he was re-elected with 29.0% of the vote.

In the state parliament, Malsch is a member of the committee for infrastructure, agriculture and forestry as well as the committee for migration, justice and consumer protection.

Motorsport

From 1997 to 2003 Malsch took an active part in rally events. Since July 2002, Malsch has been the chairman of the Altensteiner Oberland e. V. and in this function significantly involved in the organization of the Glasbach races .

Since December 2007 Malsch has been a member of the technical committee in the German Motorsport Federation and since November 2012 a permanent representative of the German Motorsport Federation in the Hill Climbing Commission of the World Motorsport Federation FIA .

For his sporting commitment, Malsch was awarded the Badge of Honor of the State Sports Association of Thuringia .
