plant
Sendlinger's artistic work deals with urban life, its abysses and their beauty. He collages , mixes and abstracts found objects and recontextualises civilizational phenomena. With his work he moves between urban trauma and oscillating worlds. They document the vibrating pulse of the information age as well as the nervous restlessness of the people in the big cities. (Friederike Nymphius, curator, Berlin, 2009).
This documentation can be read not only in Sendlinger's large formats, travel collages or sculptures, but also in his music and vehicle projects, which are a kind of inventory of the immediate surroundings.

nightmare
The traveling exhibition initiated by the artist Marcus Sendlinger in 2010 reflects artistic, social and cultural circumstances that deal with fear and fears. The source of inspiration and namesake of the touring exhibition ALPTRAUM were the paintings by the Swiss artist Johann Heinrich Füssli (1741 Zurich - 1825 London); in particular the painting “Der Nachtmahr” (1782). One of the most important works of black romanticism, this work deals with our frightening dreams, visions and personal demons. In the group show initiated by Sendlinger, this discussion finds its contemporary continuation. With over 280 shown artists from over 21 countries and at over 17 exhibition locations, the artist-curated group show connects artists and institutions from all over the world - and becomes a never-ending nightmare.
