Marcus Weichert

Marcus Weichert (born August 30, 1975 in Berlin ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Weichert passed the school leaving examination (Abitur) at the Kant-Gymnasium in Berlin-Spandau in 1995 and then did military service in the Air Force . He then completed an apprenticeship as a banker .

In 1995 he became the youngest member of the CDU parliamentary group in the local parliament in Berlin's Spandau district . In 1999 he moved into the Berlin House of Representatives as one of the youngest and was a member of it until 2001. Here he worked in the committees “Economy, Companies, Technology”, “Urban Development, Environmental Protection” and in two committees of inquiry that dealt with the enlightenment Donation affair of the Berlin CDU and the failure of the privatization of the major Berlin-Brandenburg International airport.

From May 2000 to May 2003 Weichert was press spokesman for Wall AG in Berlin.

After Kai Wegner was elected member of the Bundestag in 2005, he moved again to the Berlin state parliament, to which he was a member until the end of the 2006 legislative period. In this legislature Weichert was a member of the committee for “Home Affairs, Security and Order”.

From October 2005, Weichert was press spokesman for November AG in Erlangen. From 2008 he was managing director of identif GmbH (product safety industry), a 95% subsidiary of the biotech company November AG, which was bought by the Recon Group in 2009 and renamed Recon identif GmbH.

In 2009 Weichert founded the Rotary Club Berlin International together with Alexander Geipel. For 2003/2004 he was Rotaract district spokesman in the 1940 district of Rotary .

Weichert has been with the employment agency since 2014. After managing a project for corporate development and strategic controlling at the headquarters in Nuremberg for a year, he has been chairman of the management board of the Hagen employment agency since 2015.

He is a member of the German Association of Journalists and the Federal Association of Communicators . The German Atlantic Society also counts Weichert among its members.
