Mareike Lotte Wulf (born November 15, 1979 in Rendsburg , Schleswig-Holstein ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and has been a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament since 2017 .

Life and work

Wulf was born on November 15, 1979 in Rendsburg , Schleswig-Holstein . After graduating from the Herbartgymnasium Oldenburg (Oldb.) In 1999 , Wulf studied cultural sciences in Frankfurt / Oder and completed her studies with an intermediate diploma. She spent a year abroad studying political science in Lille , France . Wulf graduated with a degree in social science from the Humboldt University in Berlin .

Then Wulf began working for the Lower Saxony employers' associations (UVN) in Hanover as an education officer and later became head of education and social policy . Wulf has been a member of the UVN management team since 2017 and is also responsible for the labor market in this role .

Wulf is married.

Political activity

Mareike Wulf is seen as a career changer in Lower Saxony politics; the state election in Lower Saxony in 2017 was the first election she ran. In the constituency of Hanover-Mitte it was defeated by 25.4% to the SPD candidate Alptekin Kırcı , who received 41.4% of the first votes. However, it moved into the state parliament via position 12 on the CDU state list . In the shadow cabinet of the CDU top candidate Bernd Althusmann , she was designated as minister of education; however, after the coalition negotiations, this department fell to Grant Hendrik Tonne (SPD). Mareike Wulf was elected deputy chairwoman of the CDU parliamentary group with responsibility for the areas of culture and economy.
