Alptekin Kirci (born January 28, 1971 in Hanover ) is a German lawyer and was elected to the Lower Saxony state parliament for the SPD in the state elections in Lower Saxony in 2017 .

Life

Born in 1971 as the son of a Turk and a German, Alptekin Kirci studied law at the Georg-August University in Göttingen and at the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University in Hanover after attending school . During his legal clerkship, he completed a four-month training course in Istanbul .

In 1999, the German with a Turkish background, familiar with the economic systems and cultures of both countries, started working as a lawyer and in 2000 joined a lawyer in Hanover. Kirci has also been a specialist lawyer for tax law since May 2009 .

After long Kirci to 2006 five years volunteer as district mayor for the Hanover County North worked, he was then by the local elections in the city council voted in which he was responsible for the District of North. Kirci was a member of the municipal sports committee and the culture committee. In March 2011, in the Migration Committee , he demanded that foreigners also have the right to vote and vote for foreigners . Shortly thereafter, he was elected chairman of the SPD Hanover with 97.3% to succeed Walter Meinhold . In May 2013, he resigned from his position as councilor and moved to the Lower Saxony State Chancellery . Since then, he has been head of the office of the Commissioner for Integration and Participation Doris Schröder-Köpf .

From 2011 to 2013 Kirci was a member of the SPD's federal executive committee.

In the state elections in Lower Saxony in 2017, Kirci won the direct mandate for the constituency 28 Hannover-Mitte with 41.4% of the first votes .

Alptekin Kirci is married and has two children.
