Marek Wenzel (born January 18, 1977 in Bautzen ) is a former German volleyball player .

Wenzel played in his Saxon homeland in the 1990s for Bundesliga club SC Leipzig . After his relegation in 1997 he played one season with the junior team from VC Olympia Berlin in the second division . He had his most successful time at SCC Berlin from 1998 to 2001 , when he finished third in the European CEV Cup in 1999 and a year later became German runner-up and DVV cup winner . In 2001 Wenzel moved to the second division Volley Dogs Berlin , with whom he was promoted to the Bundesliga in 2002. From 2003 to 2005 he played for league rivals SG Eltmann and in the 2005/06 season again in the second division at 1. Sonneberger VC. Then Wenzel went to Austria in the first division and played two years each for PSvBG Salzburg and Union Raiffeisen Arbesbach . In 2010 Wenzel moved back to Germany to the second division TSGL Schöneiche , where he ended his long volleyball career after the 2011/12 season.
