Margaret of Austria-Tuscany

Archduchess Margareta of Austria-Tuscany (born October 13, 1881 in Salzburg , † April 30, 1965 in Schwertberg ) was the seventh child and third daughter of Grand Duke Ferdinand IV of Tuscany from his second marriage to Alicia von Bourbon-Parma and great-great-granddaughter of Emperor Leopold II from the House of Habsburg-Lothringen .

Margareta grew up with numerous siblings in Salzburg . Her father died in early 1908 and left her mother Alicia as a widow, with whom Margareta moved to Schwertberg in Upper Austria in 1918 after the end of the First World War and thus the Austro-Hungarian monarchy . In order to be able to stay in Austria further, in 1919 she made a declaration of renunciation of her rights as Archduchess . She remained unmarried and died in Schwertberg in 1965 at the age of 84.
