Margarete Palz

Margarete Palz (* 1937 in Mährisch Ostrau , Czechoslovakia , today Ostrava , Czech Republic ) is a German textile artist whose art clothes are also exhibited and presented internationally.

Life

As a child, Palz came to Zweibrücken , where she still lives today. From 1957 to 1961 she studied fine arts at the Institute for Art and Crafts Education at the Werkkunstschule Saarbrücken , as well as art history at the Saarland University and in Berlin ( Free University ). In 1960, Palz became a member of the artists' association Neue Gruppe Saar . In 1966 she began teaching as an art teacher at the Hofenfels-Gymnasium in Zweibrücken, which she continued until she retired in 2000. Then she strengthened and expanded her creative activity, especially in the field of textile art . In 2006, Palz received a teaching position at the School for Fashion Design in Zurich . Between 2007 and 2013, she won several international awards for her imaginative art clothes, which are mainly made from films and photo paper. Palz receives the material for her works of art from her brother Gerhard Heisler , who works as a photographer in Saarbrücken . The clothes are also shown at dance art events.
