Margarethe von Hanau-Lichtenberg (* May 15, 1463 , Lichtenberg ; † May 26, 1504 ) was a daughter of Count Philip I of Hanau-Lichtenberg and, by marriage, Countess of Nassau-Wiesbaden .

Margarethe married Count Adolf III on June 20, 1484 . von Nassau-Wiesbaden (born November 10, 1443, † November 6, 1511 in Wiesbaden), governor of Geldern and Zütphen . He was the eldest son of Johann von Nassau-Wiesbaden-Idstein (* 1419; † May 9, 1480) and Maria von Nassau-Dillenburg (* February 2, 1418; † October 11, 1472).
Margarethe and Adolf had four children:

- Maria Margaretha (born August 9, 1487 at Sonnenberg Castle ; † March 2, 1548), ⚭ 1502 Count Ludwig I of Nassau-Weilburg († May 28, 1523)
- Anna (born July 9, 1490 in Leiden ; † November 10, 1550), ⚭ 1506 Count Heinrich XXXI. von Schwarzburg-Blankenburg (* 1473; † August 4, 1528 in Nordhausen )
- Philip I (born April 26, 1492 in Cologne , † June 6, 1558 in Idstein , allegedly buried in Klarenthal Abbey ), 1511 Count of Nassau-Wiesbaden-Idstein
