Margrit Schriber

Margrit Schriber (born June 4, 1939 in Lucerne ) is a Swiss writer .

Life and writing

Margrit Schriber grew up in Brunnen and Küssnacht in the canton of Schwyz . She completed an apprenticeship in banking and worked as a bank clerk until her marriage; afterwards she worked as a temporary worker in offices, as a commercial artist and mannequin . She has been living in Zofingen in the canton of Aargau and in the French Dordogne for a long time .

Schriber is the author of everyday stories in cool language, in which a disillusioning balance sheet of the lives of their protagonists is often drawn. She doesn't see herself as a pessimist , but sees disillusionment as an opportunity to change the lives of her characters. From 2006 she wrote several historical novels about women in the 18th and 19th centuries. and 20th century. It was too early for these idiosyncratic and strong characters to materialize. They have been killed, cast out, exploited and despised. Your detective novel is a continuation of these historical novels into the 21st century.

She is a member of the Writers' Association of Authors in Switzerland (AdS) and the «German- Swiss PEN Center ».

• 1977, 1980, 1984, 1992 and 1997 each one year of work for the Canton of Aargau
• 1985 and 1987 honorary gift from the city of Zurich
