Church of the Protection and Intercession of the Virgin Mary
Church of the Protection and Intercession of the Virgin Mary is a church , monastery church or chapel that is consecrated to the Mother of God in memory of a miraculous apparition in Constantinople (now Istanbul) in the middle of the 10th century. The patronage is the feast of the Protection and Intercession of the Virgin Mary on October 1st (Orthodox and Byzantine feast).
The churches are therefore consistently Orthodox and Byzantine of various denominations.
