The Roman Catholic Curate Church of the Birth of Mary is the village church of Hohenroth , a municipality in the Lower Franconian district of Rhön-Grabfeld . Hohenroth is part of the parish community "Don Bosco Am Salzforst". The church is one of the architectural monuments of Hohenroth and is registered under the number D-6-73-135-6 in the Bavarian list of monuments .

history

The Hohenroth Curate belonged to the parish of Bad Neustadt an der Saale . The place already had a church in the Middle Ages . The current church was built in 1931.

description

The church is of considerable length and height in building. It is oriented to the south. The choir is significantly lower than the nave and just closed. The church tower stands on the east side of the nave and clearly towers above it.

Furnishing

The furnishings are baroque and were created in 1721. On the high altar there is a painting of Mary's coronation in heaven. The side altars and the pulpit are decorated with figures. Above the choir arch is the coat of arms of Würzburg Bishop Matthias Ehrenfried with the year 1931.
