In 1866 the "First Austrian Central Institute for Artificial Fish Breeding" bought some meadows between Hellbrunn and Morzg, created fish ponds and reforested the property. This property was acquired by the Uhlan riding master Josef Ritter von Lommer († January 7, 1902), who had the facility built here in the historicist style in 1901. After his death in 1905, his brother Max Ritter von Lommer, who was also the owner of Emslieb Castle at the time , sold this property. After several changes of ownership, the general daughter Maria Striberski opened the Maria-Theresien-Schlößl diet pension here on July 29, 1935 . The Schlössl got its current appearance from structural changes in 1935, which were initiated by Maria Striberski. The architects and artists who were entrusted with the renovation in 1935 were the Viennese Art Nouveau architects Alfred Keller and Martin Knoll. In addition, the furniture (Art Nouveau furniture, wall-filling views of Mediterranean landscapes reminiscent of the Striberski couple's honeymoon to Italy and North Africa) was brought by the owner from Vienna to Salzburg and moved to the newly built wing with salon and dining room as well as the small salon and built in the guest rooms.

In 1954 Mrs. Schneider bought the Schlössl and turned it into a hotel-restaurant. In 1982 their son Horst took over the management of the house with his wife Heidi and daughter Angela. In 1987 they built the "Belle Etage" in the park with additional hotel rooms. In the restaurant, among other things, freshly caught fish from its own fish ponds were offered. Well-known guests in the Schlössl were Richard Burton and Liz Taylor , Clint Eastwood , Karl Böhm , Wilhelm Furtwängler and Clark Gable .

The restaurant was closed on December 31, 2007 and the facility was sold. In 2008 the building was rebuilt and restored. The property is privately owned and cannot be visited at the moment.

Maria-Theresien-Schlössl today

The building has a historicist or neo-baroque facade decorated with stucco , as can be seen in the Ringstrasse buildings in Vienna .

Diagonally to the left in front of the main building is the "Belle Etage", built in 1987, and on the far left is a small villa that is temporarily occupied by the current owners. The complex also includes a pavilion to the right of the main building, which was once a popular location for weddings. The large park with its old trees also includes various larger fish ponds. In the park there are old sculptures, small watercourses and ponds, with most of the stone finishes being made of conglomerate .
