Maria Callist Soosa Pakiam (born March 11, 1946 in Marthandonthura ) is Archbishop of Trivandrum .

Life

Maria Callist Soosa Pakiam was ordained a priest on December 20, 1969 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Coadjutor Bishop of Trivandrum on November 10, 1989 . The Archbishop of Verapoly , Cornelius Elanjikal , donated him episcopal ordination on February 2 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Leon Augustine Tharmaraj , Bishop of Kottar , and Joseph Gabriel Fernandez , Bishop of Quilon .

After Benedict Jacob Acharuparambil's OFMCap resigned , he succeeded him on January 31, 1991 in the office of Bishop of Trivandrum. With the elevation to the archbishopric on June 17, 2004, he was appointed Archbishop of Trivandrum and on August 23, 2004 he was introduced to the office.

He is Chairman of the Biblical Commission of the Kerala Catholic Bible Society of the Bishops 'Conference of Kerala ( Kerala Catholic Bishops' Council (KCBC)).
