Maria Kubitschek

Maria Kubitschek (born August 16, 1962 in Mistelbach an der Zaya ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). Kubitschek was a member of the National Council from 2000 to 2002 , then was head of the economy division of the Vienna Chamber of Labor and was head of cabinet in the BMVIT .

education and profession

Kubitschek attended elementary school in Hohenau an der March from 1968 to 1972 and then the local secondary school until 1976. In 1976 she moved to the higher federal college for economic professions in Vienna and completed her school education in 1981 with the Matura . Kubitschek then studied economics at the University of Vienna from 1981 and completed her studies in 1988 with the academic degree Mag. Rer. soc. oec. at the Institute for Social and Economic Sciences.

After completing her studies, Kubitschek worked at the Vienna Chamber of Labor (Economic Policy Department) from 1988 to 1993 and headed the Foreign Trade and Integration Policy Department from 1993 to 1998. From 1998 to 2000 she headed the economic policy department and from 2001 the economic department. As the head of the economic department, Kubitschek stood up against high fuel prices and food prices as well as the sale of ADEG to the REWE Group in 2008 .

politics

Maria Kubitschek represented the SPÖ from April 14, 2000 to December 19, 2002 in the National Council, although she had not exercised any political function prior to her activity. She replaced the Chamber of Labor President Eleonora Hostasch and was the business location and business spokeswoman for the SPÖ parliamentary club. Kubitschek resigned from the National Council after the National Council election in 2002 for health reasons .
