Maria Patroness of Bavaria (Aschenroth)
The Roman Catholic branch church of St. Maria Patroness of Bavaria is the village church of Aschenroth in the Lower Franconian district of Main-Spessart . The church with the patronage of the Patrona Bavariae is one of the architectural monuments of Gemünden am Main and is registered under the number D-6-77-131-62 in the Bavarian list of monuments . Aschenroth is part of the parish community around the Sodenberg .
history
Aschenroth is a branch of the original parish Wolfsmünster . The village with only 55 inhabitants did not have a church until the 20th century. In the years 1922/23 the church was built in the Baroque style of the homeland .
description
The church is entered on the east side of the nave through a vestibule delimited by two round arches . A roof turret rises above it . The nave has three window axes with segmental arches and has a flat roof. The choir , which is also flat, has a five-eighth closure . The choir arch is round. The sacristy is on the north side.
Furnishing
Above the tabernacle of the high altar we can see a painting of St. Mary . The Holy Family is depicted on the right side altar and Christ as King on the left . The organ is placed on the eastern gallery .
