Maria Reuber

Maria Reuber , née Porstau (born August 17, 1901 in Berlin ; † March 11, 1969 there ), was a German politician ( SPD ).

Maria Porstau attended a lyceum and then studied music. She became a teacher.

After the Second World War , Maria Reuber joined the SPD in 1945. In the Berlin election in 1948 she was elected to the district assembly in the Zehlendorf district, where she was temporarily the chairman of the SPD parliamentary group. From 1952 to 1955 she was also chairwoman of the SPD Zehlendorf. In the 1954 election , Reuber was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives, to which she belonged until 1958. After the death of the governing mayor Otto Suhr in August 1957, she spoke out in favor of Willy Brandt , although the chairman of the SPD Berlin Franz Neumann had other ideas.
