Maria Usifo (born August 1, 1964 ) is a former Nigerian hurdler and sprinter .

In the 1980s she was considered one of the dominant African hurdlers, was African champion five times and was able to secure both gold medals in her disciplines at the 1987 African Games in Nairobi.

In 1982 she was eighth over 100 m hurdles at the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane . At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, she reached the semifinals over 100 m hurdles as well as 400 m hurdles .

As a student at Texas Southern University , she became the NCAA 400 m hurdles champion in 1986 . At the World Athletics Championships in 1987 she reached the semifinals over 400 m and 400 m hurdles. In 1988 she was eliminated from the Olympic Games in Seoul over 100 m hurdles in the quarter-finals and over 400 m hurdles in the preliminary run. At the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria she was eighth in the 400 m hurdles.
