Lamiae Lhabz (also Lhabze ; born May 19, 1984 in Rabat ) is a Moroccan hurdler who specializes in the 400 meter distance .

Athletic career

Lamiae Lhabz gained her first international experience at the Junior African Championships 2003 in Garoua , where she won the bronze medal in 62.55 s and took fourth place in the 100 meter hurdles in 14.48 s. In addition, she did not finish with the Moroccan 4 x 400 meter relay. In 2005 she took part in the Summer Universiade in Izmir for the first time and was eliminated in the first round of the 400-meter hurdles in 59.67 s. In 2008, she went in the Africa championships in Bambous in the heptathlon at the start, but could not finish her race. Even over the hurdles, she did not make it to the final in 60.67 s. The following year, she won the Arab Championships in Amman over 100 meter hurdles in 14.0 s and won the silver medal over the longer hurdle distance in 57.71 s. At the Student World Games in Bangkok , she was eliminated again in the first round in 57.90 s, but qualified for the World Championships in Osaka , where she was eliminated with 57.81 s in the lead. She then won the Pan-Arab Games in Cairo in 14.21 s over 100 meter hurdles and was fourth in the 400 meter hurdles in 59.88 s. She also won gold with the 4-by-100-meter relay and silver with the 4-by-400-meter relay. In 2008 she won the silver medal behind the Nigerian Muizat Ajoke Odumosu at the African Championships in Addis Ababa in 56.07 seconds and finished fourth in the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 41.54 minutes.

In 2009 she won the silver medal behind her compatriot Hayat Lambarki at the Francophonie Games in Beirut in 58.81 seconds and won the bronze medal in 3: 37.72 minutes in the relay. Then she won the relay at the Arab Championships in Damascus and won the bronze medal over 100 meters hurdles in 14.39 s, while she had to admit defeat only Lambarki over the longer hurdle distance in 57.86 s. Two years later she won the Arab Championships in al-Ain with both relays and won the silver medal over both hurdles. She then won the Pan-Arab Games in Doha over 100 meter hurdles and with the relay in 13.88 s and won the silver medal in the 400 meter hurdles in 57.55 s. In 2012 she finished seventh at the African Championships in Porto-Novo in 57.35 s and in 2013 she won the Arab Championships in Doha with both relays and won the silver medal in the hurdles in 59.83 s. Then she won at the Mediterranean Games in Mersin in 55.51 s the silver medal behind Lambarki and was disqualified with the relay. At the Games of the Francophonie in Nice she was sixth over the hurdles in 58.89 s and finished fourth in the relay in 3: 37.48 min. She then won the silver medal in the 400-meter hurdles at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Palembang in 58.16 s and was fourth over the shorter distance in 14.17 s. In addition, she won the 4-by-400-meter relay in 3: 36.58 min and won the silver medal in the 4-by-100-meter relay in 47.18 seconds.

In 2014 she retired from the African Championships in Marrakech with 14.59 s in the first round and reached sixth place in the 400-meter hurdles in 57.24 s. In 2015 she won the Arab Championships in Madinat Isa in 13.53 s and 56.64 s. In 2018 she won the silver medal again in 56.66 s at the African Championships in Asaba , this time behind the Nigerian Glory Onome Nathaniel . However, this was subsequently disqualified for doping and the gold medal was thus passed to Lhabz. Then she was at the Athletics Continental Cup in Ostrava in 57.35 s seventh. In the following year she won the Arab Championships in Cairo over 100 m hurdles in 14.31 seconds and won the silver medal behind Bahraini Aminat Yusuf Jamal over the longer distance in 59.05 seconds . At the end of August she took part in the Africa Games in Rabat for the first time and won the silver medal there in 56.97 seconds behind the Kenyan Vanice Kerubo Nyagisera .

In 2007 and from 2010 to 2013 Lhabz was Moroccan champion in the 400-meter hurdles and in 2010 and 2011 and 2014 and 2015 also in the 100-meter hurdles.
