Marianne Rosenbaum
Marianne SW Rosenbaum (born May 22, 1940 in Leitmeritz , Reichsgau Sudetenland , as Marianne Worlicek ; † October 29, 1999 in Munich ) was a German film director and screenwriter.
Career
After fleeing, Rosenbaum spent her childhood in Sossau near Straubing , surrounded by "bleeding and tortured baroque saints." After graduating from high school, she studied at the Munich Art Academy . In 1965 she received a scholarship from the German Academy in Rome as a painter at the Villa Massimo . From 1967 to 1972 she studied film in Prague .
Rosenbaum then worked as a freelancer for ARD and ZDF. Together with her husband, the Syrian film director Gérard Saaman (1943–2001), she designed z. B. the well-known children's series " Neues aus Uhlenbusch " and made numerous documentaries. In 1983 she released her first feature film Peppermint Peace with Peter Fonda in the lead role, which traced the post-war years up to 1950 in black and white. Then the TV film Sonntagskind or for the sake of the circumstances was made (1988) based on the children's book by Gudrun Mebs . In 1996 the film Lilien in der Bank was released , which was inspired by Wende experiences and which they made together with Gérard Samaan.
Rosenbaum taught at the Munich and Potsdam film schools . In 1984 she was appointed to the Berlin Academy of the Arts .
A vocational school in Straubing is named after Rosenbaum.
