Marianne Spring-Räumschüssel would like the introduction of direct democracy based on the Swiss model in Germany as well. It does not see renewable energies as base load capable and therefore rejects a politically determined date for the coal phase- out. She advocates a binding lobby register and would like to subsidize the advertising of doctors in rural regions .

As the age president, she gave the opening speech in the Brandenburg state parliament on September 25, 2019. In it she spoke about the limits of parliamentary democracy and the disappointment of many citizens with politics. She called the political debate poisoned by " political correctness " and lamented disadvantages for "critics who do not follow the political mainstream". The speech led to tumult and was only greeted with applause by AfD MPs. In heckling, she was accused of giving an AfD speech.
