Marie Bayerová
Marie Bayerová (born January 2, 1922 in Příbor ; † January 31, 1997 in Prague ) was a Czech translator of German-language works and a philosopher.
Life
After the occupation of the Czech Republic in 1938 and the dissolution of the Czech secondary school in Příbor, Bayerová passed her high school diploma in 1940 in Frenštát . In 1941 she was ordered to work in Germany, after which she worked in a drugstore in Nový Jičín until 1945 . After the war she studied philosophy and psychology at Prague University and received her doctorate in 1949. She then worked as an assistant at a university that was closed in 1952. After a few years as a housewife, she started in the editorial department at the Institute of Philosophy of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic , where she worked until she retired in 1978.
Works
She mainly dealt with phenomenological philosophy ( Edmund Husserl ), the works of Bolzan and the effects of Austrian and German philosophical ideas of the 19th and 20th centuries in the Czech Republic . In addition, she dealt with the Czech philosophers Jan Patočka , Emil Utitz , and Ladislav Rieger .
Her most important work was the monograph on Bernard Bolzano Evropský rozměr jeho filosofického myšlení, 1994. ISBN 80-7007-053-6 . In total, she published over twenty works.
