Ingegerd Marie Hammarström Liljesson (born Ingegerd Marie Hammarström on March 29, 1982 in Glanshammar ) is a Swedish former soccer player . She made her debut for the Swedish national team in 2010 and played for KIF Örebro from 2005 to 2012. After a season in Gothenburg, she was on maternity leave. She has a twin sister who is also a national player and who played in goal for Kopparbergs / Göteborg FC .

Marie and Kristin Hammarström started playing football at Glanshammars IF and Torshälla-Nyby IS , Marie then moved to Karlslunds IF in 1999 . In the 2004 season she played for Umeå IK and the following year she went back to Örebro to KIF Örebro , where she played with Kristin and won the Swedish Cup in 2010. Her sister then moved to Kopparbergs / Göteborg FC . In 2013 she also moved to Gothenburg due to the club's austerity measures, but only played there one season as she then took a baby break. In 2015 she had two appearances at the Örebroer Club Rynninge IK in the third division and in 2017 two short appearances at KIF Örebro.

National team

While Kristin made her first international match in 2008, Marie had to wait until October 26, 2010 before she made her first A international match at the age of 28 in a 3-1 win against Norway. She stood on the square with her sister. Up until the World Cup, the sisters played together in three international matches. Both twin sisters were members of the Swedish squad for the 2011 World Cup . In the last group game, Marie was substituted on in the 77th minute. By beating the USA , their team met as group winners in the quarter-finals against Australia , which were won 3-1. In the semifinals she was in the starting line-up for captain Caroline Seger , who was injured while warming up, but lost with her team 3-1 to Japan . On July 16, 2011, she and the team won the game for third place, in which they not only scored the winning goal in the 2-1 win over France , but also their first international goal for Sweden. The goal was then nominated for the “Goal of the Tournament” election and voted third most beautiful goal by FIFA.com users. Her sister Kristin was not used in the tournament.

In 2012 she was used in 15 of 16 international matches, only in the last game, the first game under Pia Sundhage , she was not used. She took part in the 2012 Olympics with Sweden , but was eliminated in the quarter-finals. In a 2-2 win against Canada, she scored the goal to make it 1-0.

At the European Women's Football Championship in 2013 she was a regular player and reached the semi-finals with her team against defending champions Germany in which she lost 1-0. She was used in all games together with her twin sister, who was the first goalkeeper at a major tournament. In the quarter-finals against Iceland, she scored the 1-0 lead in the third minute (final score 4-0).

In November 2013, the twin sisters announced their resignation.
