The brick building was erected in the 1870s.
The facade of the three-storey , six-axle semi-detached house is designed in a manner similar to that of the neighboring complex Marienstraße 7-10 to the west . The ground floor, the pilaster strips and the frieze under the eaves are set apart from the yellow brick otherwise used with red brick.
The complex includes a three-and-a-half-storey rear building on Frankenwall with a central projection .
The house is located in the core area of the city area recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site of the “ historic old towns of Stralsund and Wismar ”. It is entered in the list of architectural monuments in Stralsund with the number 510.
The building was built by the “Kaland” foundation.
