Live and act

Little is known about Marie Biberhofer's early years in her hometown of Linz. She was the daughter of a hotelier ("Zum Goldenen Schiff") and married a Klagenfurt merchant.

The 30-year-old artist made her debut as Marietta Müller in a production by the later Casablanca director Michael Curtiz and called herself Marietta Millner from the following year 1926, when she played alongside Pat & Patachon . In 1926 she went to Berlin , but followed the director Georg Jacoby only a few months later when he set off on a multi-month film trip to North America and East Asia . The result of this expedition were three films. Mariette Millner stayed in the US and received a film contract for four films from Paramount Pictures . She played the leading female role in three of these little-known films.

In 1928 Marietta Millner returned to Germany and continued her film work in Berlin. After shooting her last film, Wilhelm Thieles Adieu, Mascotte , in March 1929 , she went on a strict diet.
