Marina Maximilian Blumin ( Hebrew מארינה מקסימיליאן בלומין; born December 15, 1987 ), known as Marina Maximilian , is an Israeli singer , songwriter and actress . She took part in the 5th season of Kokhav Nolad .

Childhood and youth

Marina was born in Dnipropetrovsk , Soviet Union (now Ukraine ) on December 15, 1987. When she was three years old, she immigrated to Israel with her parents. The family lived there with friends in Ramat Gan before settling in the Pardes Katz settlement , a community in Bnei Brak . From an early age she learned to play the piano from her mother, Ella, a classical pianist and sang in the choir. Marina later went to a conservatory where her mother taught.

Marina graduated from Ironi Alef High School in Tel Aviv . At the age of 15 she started performing in jazz clubs after the pianist Rick Birman took her under his wing. She performed at the Red Sea Jazz Festival in Eilat . She sang at Common tape, Ethnic - fusion - rock - jazz band at festivals and clubs and sang a solo, Beit Sefer LeMiskhak ( "Acting School") to Ohad Ben Avis debut album.

Career

Kokhav Nolad

In 2007, Marina auditioned for the fifth season of Kokhav Nolad and was accepted. During the show, she sang mostly Israeli pop and folk songs, which she spiced with a pinch of jazz. She sang Halomot ("Dreams") by Ruhama Raz , Shir Ahuvat HaSapan ("Song of the Sailor's Beloved") by Rita , Bluz Kna'ani ("Canaan Blues") by Ehud Banai and Vidui ("Confession") by Alexander Penn (sung by Yehudit Ravitz ). In the end, Marina qualified for the final along with Bo'az Ma'uda and Shlomi Bar'el , and came second with the song by Nurit Galron Nifradnu Kakh (“This is how we ended it”). The award was a record deal with Helicon, an Israeli record company.

After Kokhav Nolad

Blumin did not serve in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and was charged with conscientious objection even though she was mentally entitled to do so and instead did alternative service as a volunteer singing teacher at the Ben Shemen Youth Village. In April 2008 she gave her first solo performance at the Yamei Zemer Festival in Cholon , which was directed by Zadok (Zedi) Zarfati. In May 2008 she released a duet with Boaz Mauda called Mi Haya Ma'amin . The duet became a hit in Israel. In June 2008 she released her first solo single Sof Sof . Karmi (nee Blumin) decided not to release her Hebrew language album, but to record an English language album. The first single Two Pigs was released in January 2013 and a second single Tango was released on April 29th. On September 17, 2014, it emerged that Israel's Radio 88FM, which oversees the selection of the country's artist for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest, had approached Blumin to sing for the country at the 2015 competition in Vienna. This never happened.

Maximilian performed at the opening ceremonies of the 2017 Maccabiah Games on July 6, 2017.

In 2019 Blumin released the single Boar bi Hashinuy (Change and Combustion). With this single she also changed her management team.

Acting career

Blumin appeared in two Cameri Theater productions: The play Requiem (at the age of fifteen) and in the musical The Producers at the age of eighteen. She also took part twice in the Acre Festival, where she sang in the piece Butterfly (Farewell, Butterfly), which won first prize in 2005; In 2006 she later took part in Rabak and wrote the music for it, for which she received an Honorable Mention. Blumin is currently starring in the daily TV drama Hasufim (which means "The Bare") on HOT3 , where she plays a successful correspondent who switches to competing channel. She also plays a duty officer in the mystery series Timrot Ashan, also on HOT 3.

Since 2019 she can also be seen in the well-known TV series " Fauda " as the office manager of Shabak.
