Mario Bächtiger

Mario Bächtiger (born August 1, 1988 ) is a Swiss middle-distance runner , his main discipline is the 800-meter run . Bächtiger starts for STV Eschenbach , his trainer is the former top runner Cornelia Bürki . His greatest sporting success was in 2007 when he took part in the U20 European Championships, where he reached the semi-finals. He has been a member of the Swiss B squad since 2007 and has been an integral part of the Swiss military sports squad ( CISM ) since 2009 . In his home country, the St.Galler Obersee region, he is one of the local sporting greats and forms an integral part of the reporting there. He lives in Jona and is training to be a secondary school teacher.
