Mario Donatone

Mario Donatone (born June 9, 1933 in Tripoli , Libya , † April 14, 2020 in Rome ) was an Italian actor with over 80 roles in film and television.

life and career

Donatone, born in 1933, began his film career at the age of 18 in Luchino Visconti's Bellissima , but has only appeared in films regularly since 1968. The massive actor remained a reliable interpreter of character roles, best known in Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather III , in which he played the hit man Mosca. In the 1970s and 1980s he was seen more often at the side of his fellow actor Tomás Milián . He was also employed as a guest actor in television series. He played one of his final roles in John Wick: Chapter 2 in 2017, directed by Chad Stahelski .
