Career

As an eight-year-old, Hirz made his first footballing experience at the lower-class FC Union Passail. In July 2001 he moved to the federal youth center of the former Bundesliga club Grazer AK .

In the 2008/09 season Hirz made his debut on August 30, 2008 on the GAK combat team. The 180 centimeter tall defensive all-rounder came on for Thomas Hopfer in the 69th minute of the Graz team's 2-0 home win against SAK Klagenfurt . However, this should remain his only season appearance for the Grazer AK. On January 28th, 2009 Hirz switched to league competitor TSV Hartberg on loan , where he was able to fight for a regular place straight away. By the end of the season he made twelve appearances for the Hartberger and thus contributed to winning the championship title in the Middle Regional League and thus to promotion to the first division. This was mainly because he fixed the Hartberger's 1-0 away win at FC Wels with his first championship goal on May 8, 2009 .

On June 20, 2009 he was signed by TSV Hartberg. In the 2009/10 season Hirz came on 15 missions. On August 7, 2009 he was allowed to make his professional debut in the fifth round of a 1-0 away win at FC Admira Wacker Mödling . Hirz was in the starting line-up and played through. A black hour experienced Hirz on 22 September 2009. On November 27, 2009, Hirz celebrated his first goal as a professional soccer player when he headed the fifth goal in the 72nd minute of the game in the 5-3 win against FC Dornbirn .
