Mario Steiner (born December 12, 1982 in Villach ) is an Austrian football player . He spent his youth on the Verditz and played for SV Afritz. He currently plays for WSG Radenthein.

Career

Steiner began his career in the youth team at SV Afritz / Verditz in Carinthia and then he joined the FC Carinthia academy. In 1999 he joined FC Kärnten under Walter Schachner . In 2001 he rose to the Bundesliga with the Carinthians . At the same time, this year was the most successful in the midfielder's career. In the ÖFB Cup final against FC Tirol Innsbruck , Steiner scored the decisive 2: 1 in extra time to win the Cup for the southern Austrians. He also won the Supercup with the Carinthians on penalties , again against FC Tirol.

Then Steiner went to the satellite club of FC Carinthia, BSV Juniors Villach 2003, in the first division due to injuries and problems with the coach at the time . A year later he went to Burgenland for SC-ESV Parndorf 1919 . Then it went to the regional leagues for FC Waidhofen / Ybbs , SV Spittal / Drau and SK St. Andrä . In 2007 he returned to FC Kärnten . In 2008 he moved to the regional league promoted 1. FC Vöcklabruck . After the Vöcklabrucker's relegation, he moved to FC Gratkorn in the summer of 2009 . He has been under contract with Grazer AK since summer 2011 .
