Marion S. Kellogg

Marion S. Kellogg (born June 15, 1920 in Rochester , Monroe County , New York , † August 14, 2004 in New York City ) was an American manager and business consultant . Kellogg was one of the first female top executives in an American corporation and the first female vice president of General Electric .

Marion S. Kellogg studied physics and was the first female teacher at Brown University's Physics Department before joining GE. In 1974 she was promoted to Vice President of Corporate Consulting Services . Until 1983 she advised the various departments and branches of General Electric. In addition, she worked worldwide as a self-employed management consultant, wrote several specialist books and was on the board of directors of Emhart , CIGNA and Citytrust .

Marion S. Kellogg was honored with four honorary doctorates from American universities for her services. She also received the Mary Parker Follett Award (after Mary Parker Follett ) for her contributions to human resource development .
