Marjana Schott (born December 2, 1958 in Bad Hersfeld ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ).

Life

After graduating from high school in Kassel, Marjana Schott trained as a bookseller between 1979 and 1982 and then worked in the training company. From 1986 to 1991 she studied social pedagogy at the University of Kassel and from 1992 to 2002 she worked as a social pedagogue in the Kassel district .

She has been a freelance insolvency administrator since 2002 . From 2001 to 2006 she had a teaching position at the University of Kassel. Marjana Schott became a member of the PDS in 2002 (from 2007: Die Linke). From 2005 to summer 2008 she was deputy state chairwoman in Hesse. In the state elections in Hesse in 2008 , she was elected to the Hessian state parliament via the state list of the party Die Linke , in whose state parliamentary group she held the post of parliamentary manager.

For the state elections in Hesse in 2009 she was elected to second place on the state list of the Left.

In the state elections in Hesse in 2013 , she ran in the constituency of Kassel-Stadt II . Here she was defeated by Wolfgang Decker . However, you succeeded in entering the state parliament via a list of the party. In the state elections in 2018 , she ran in the constituency of Kassel-Land II , where she received 5.8% of the constituency votes. However, since she was not properly covered by her party's state list, she resigned from the state parliament. On November 24, 2018, she was elected as one of the two deputy state chairmen of the Left in Hesse at the state party conference in Gießen .

Marjana Schott is married and has one grown son.
