Mark Verdon Boucher (born December 3, 1976 in East London ) is a former South African cricketer and was best known for his skills as a wicket keeper .
Career
In 2009 he was named one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the Year . In his career, Mark Boucher made 147 tests for South Africa . He completed his first test in October 1997 against Pakistan . With 555 dismissals , he is the most successful keeper in the cricket test . Mark Boucher also played 295 one-day cricket matches for South Africa. With 424 dismissals he is the third most successful keeper at One-Day Internationals after Adam Gilchrist and Kumar Sangakkara . He retired in 2012 after sustaining an eye injury in a warm-up match prior to his planned final test tour against England .
