Mark Dittli

Mark Dittli (* 1974 in Zurich) is a Swiss financial and business journalist . From 2012 to the end of October 2017 he was editor-in-chief of Finanz und Wirtschaft . From January 2018 he was a business author at the media start-up Republik , before launching the digital financial media platform The Market in April 2019 . The NZZ media group is also involved in The Market .

Life

Dittli first completed a commercial apprenticeship with the airline Swissair and then worked for the company in Brussels, London and Stockholm. From 1996 to 1999 he studied business administration at the Zurich University of Economics and Administration (HWV) in Winterthur . During his studies he wrote for the student newspaper.

In 2000 he became the domestic editor of the business newspaper Finanz und Wirtschaft (FuW) of Tamedia AG . He developed a keen interest in macroeconomic issues. From 2004 to 2006 he studied journalism at New York University and was simultaneously foreign correspondent for economic and financial reporting in New York City from 2003 to 2008 . From 2008 to 2011 he was Head of the International Department of Finance and Economics in Zurich. From 2009 to 2011 he earned the CFA charter from the CFA Institute in Charlottesville, Virginia. In 2012 he finally became editor-in-chief of Finanz und Wirtschaft in Zurich. At the end of October 2017, he left finance and business .

Dittli has been a business author for the media start-up Republik since January 2018. At the end of November 2018 it was announced that he is co-owner and managing director of The Market , a digital medium for professional investors that is due to go online in spring 2019.
