Mark Miller (born November 20, 1924 in Houston , Texas ) is an American actor , screenwriter and film producer . He gained fame primarily through his appearances in numerous television series.

Life

Mark Miller graduated from New York's American Academy of Dramatic Arts in acting in 1952 and immediately received his first roles in local theaters, followed by her television debut in 1954. Miller received his first film role in 1957 in Mona, the Swede .

Mark Miller became better known in 1960 and 1961 as part of the regular cast of the New Mexico- based television series Guestward, Ho! alongside Joanne Dru and J. Carrol Naish . Guest appearances in numerous other series followed, most of them from the Western genre. From 1965 to 1967 Miller played the role of Jim Nash in the sitcom Our sweet home with Pat Crowley as partner. The series was based on the film Flinging Championship with Doris Day and David Niven from 1960.

In the next few years, guest appearances in well-known television series such as General Hospital , Emergency California , Kung Fu , The Waltons and The Streets of San Francisco followed .

As a film actor, Mark Miller starred in the 1963 drama Men - Hard As Iron . In 1981 he starred in the western / family film Christmas Mountain . The following year, Miller was active as a screenwriter and producer for the family film And Savannah Smiles, with Bridgette Andersen as Savannah . Miller himself played one of the leading roles as Alvie Gibbs . He had previously worked as a screenwriter and producer for other film projects and individual episodes of television series.

In 1990 Mark Miller ended his acting career. After working on the drama So Close to Heaven , he also retired from Hollywood as a screenwriter and lived with his wife on a ranch in Taos (New Mexico) for several years . Miller continues to write scripts for theater productions to this day. His play Amorous Crossings premiered in Jacksonville in 2010 with Loretta Swit in the lead role . In 2014 Miller moved to Los Angeles , where he founded the production company Gypsy Moon Entertainment in 2014 .
