Architecture and history

The front building of the property designated as Kaufmannshof in the Quedlinburg monument register was built in 1864. Before that, the “Stadt Frankfurt” inn existed here. A grating from the 16th century, which originally belonged to an arbor on the Markt 10 property, now forms the enclosure of the Quedlinburg Roland .

In 1893 it was redesigned by the architect Friedrich Staeding . The house was built in the neo-renaissance style and is based on the design of a palazzo. The lavish decoration shows symbols of mining and trade and thus refers to the banker Georg Vogler, who was the owner of the house.

In the courtyard of the property there is a three-story half - timbered house from the end of the 17th century. The facade design in the direction of the churchyard of St. Blasii shows the half-timbered figure of the half man . In addition, the thresholds are profiled and the compartments have decorative brickwork. On the north side of the half-timbered house there is another three-story half-timbered house with two massive walls.
