The house market 15 is a Grade II listed building in the town of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

The building is located on the west side of the city's market square in a corner location that is important for urban development. To the south of the house, Hohe Straße opens onto the market. A little further south is the historic tanner's house , directly to the north is the also listed residential and commercial building Markt 16 .

architecture

The house was built in 1934/1935 on the site of the historic and historically significant Bürgerhof Zum Goldenen Stern , which had also served as the town hall of the merchant and sugar manufacturer GC Hanewald. The owner of the new building was the Stadtsparkasse. The inauguration took place in 1935. After the Second World War , the savings bank operations in the house were resumed on August 18, 1946. Today operates resin savings there a branch. The plans for the house were made by the architect Herbert Puls . A simple, three-story plastered building was created, which has architecturally remarkable details. In front of the first floor there is an arcade with stained glass windows. The house is registered as a bank building in the Quedlinburg monument register.

Structural changes were made in 1996.
