Architecture and history
The half-timbered house , referred to as the merchant's house in the Quedlinburg monument register , dates from the second half of the 16th century and is essentially a Renaissance building . The protrusion of the upper floors and the high roof date from this time. Originally the building was a corner house on an alley leading from Blasiistraße into the market. The south gable of the building is still partially visible and, like the north wing on the courtyard side, is an example of the originally magnificent design of the property. There are fan rosettes , wavy bands, very strong ship throats and profiled parapet wood . The construction time in the second half of the 16th century is particularly indicative of the large number of overlapping and differently designed beam heads .
In the middle of the 19th century the facade was plastered, so that the facade design today is in the style of late classicism . The loading zone was designed around 1910 in the Art Nouveau style.
