The House Market Street 7 is a Grade II listed building in the town of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .
location
It is located in the historic old town of Quedlinburg, north of the city's market square. The house is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is listed in the Quedlinburg Monument Register as a community courtyard.
Architecture and history
The core of the three-storey half - timbered house probably dates back to around 1600. Both the arched doorway on the north side of the house and the arrangement of the windows point to such a period. The facade is plastered in the style of late classicism , whereby the decorated eaves remained striking. In the 19th century the courtyard was rebuilt.
On the courtyard side there is an elongated courtyard wing, also built in half-timbered construction.
Currently (as of 2017) there are 6 artists and artisans in the property (glass blowing, felting, ceramic workshop, jewelry workshop, paper workshop and fashion studio) as well as a cabaret.
