Architecture and history
The three-storey half - timbered house was built around 1800 in the style of early classicism . In 1887, a shop was added on the ground floor in a design typical of the early days . On April 19, 1887, Robert Ihlefeldt and Wilhelm Kramer, who ran a fashion house in Bockstrasse 5 and Markt 3 , founded the Quedlinburg furniture and equipment hall here. In 1894 the neighboring house at Markt 16 was acquired, demolished and then opened as a new commercial building in 1895. Today (as of 2013) a shop of the Harz narrow-gauge railway is housed there. The half-timbered facade of the upper floors is austere.
On the courtyard side, there are half-timbered buildings on three sides. The oldest is from the 17th century, has compartments with decorative lining and is decorated with pyramid beam heads.
