Life

Origin and education

After graduating from a humanistic grammar school in Mannheim , Grimm entered the Catholic seminary in Freiburg im Breisgau in November 1987 , where he studied theology for six semesters . In the seminar, Grimm first came into contact with the theater as an actor.

In February 1991 he moved to Würzburg . After his community service , he continued his theology studies there, studied psychology for a few semesters and graduated in 1994 with a diploma. In 1998 he received his doctorate in the subject "Old Testament". During this time he worked at the University of Würzburg as a research assistant and assistant.

Grimm has been married since 1998 and has three children.

Artistic career

Since his first contact at the theater, Grimm has regularly appeared on various stages (e.g. workshop stage , Chambinzky Theater , Mainfrankentheater Würzburg). He learned acting from various directors (e.g. from Hans-Günter Butzko and Dietrich Hollinderbäumer ). He never attended drama school, but says he is significantly influenced by Michael Chekhov's acting theory and practice .

In 2004 Grimm started his own business as a solo artist. His materials initially came from classical literature. Edits of historical persons were soon added. Grimm developed his own form of solo narrative theater, which combines elements of drama, improvisation and pantomime and is characterized by reduction, intimacy and authenticity .

In March 2010, Grimm performed his own dramatic, multimedia adaptation of the novel Retribution by Gert Ledig in the Mainfrankentheater .

Grimm also works as a speaker for various audio book publishers and as a creative coach on the topics of authenticity, language and presence . In addition, he works as a director and appears repeatedly in artistic collaborations, together with visual artists, actors or musicians.
